What made you choose this area of study?

I wanted to apply chemistry concepts to large-scale problems in food production and sustainability.

What is your favorite thing about engineering?

The continuous problem-solving mindset.

Why did you choose CWRU?

I wanted a school that valued collaboration and interdisciplinary education. CWRU provided both of those and allowed me to pursue all of my academic and extracurricular interests.

Were you involved in activities outside of class? If so, what were they and why did you get involved?

I am a campus tour guide. I wanted to learn more about campus history and connect with prospective students and tell them about my experiences at CWRU. I participate in events put on by PERIOD CWRU, OSTEM, and the LGBT Center. I got involved with these groups because I wanted to form stronger connections with the LGBTQ+ community on-campus, promote menstrual equity, and overall improve the experience of LGBTQ+ individuals in STEM.

What's your favorite thing about CWRU or your favorite memory?

My favorite memory has been watching the total eclipse with my friends on East Bell Commons and feeling such a sense of community with the campus.

As a graduating student, what's a piece of advice/encouragement you'd like to share with current students? 

Take advantage of the opportunities you find, especially in the professional sphere. Co-ops are one of the best ways to get ahead in the engineering job market and gain hands-on experience outside of the classroom.

What are your post graduation plans?

Working as a Process Engineer for the J. M. Smucker Co in Denver, Colorado, at their Uncrustables production facility.
